My Practice:
Thalia has dedicated her career to college admissions counseling, academic planning, and career development. For over 20 years, she has counseled thousands of students in college settings on issues ranging from admissions, career development/planning, deciding on majors, credit transfer, applications processing, and essay review.
Thalia’s approach is to fully explore a student's career aspirations and identify the best college matches for him/her. She meets with students and parents for an initial consultation and assessment. During the initial assessment, background information is gathered, interest inventories are given to assess potential college majors, expectations clearly defined, and time lines formulated. Then she meets with students several times throughout the year working together to narrow down college selections, work on personal statements/essays, schedule college visits, prepare portfolios, explore scholarship/financial aid possibilities, submit college applications, and continue career exploration.
In addition to being an associate member of IECA, Thalia is a professional member of the American Counseling Association.
